As a creator, take a little time to evaluate your photos to find the ones with the best story. Then ask yourself the question, how you want to tell your story? Do you want to see 1 photo with text or, several photos that together tell a story?
In order to tell a specific moment, a poster with 1 photo and text could be interesting. A poster with a title and a paragraph is a good way to tell the story with lots of details. There are also posters for which the photo itself tells the story. In these conditions, an inscription of the place underneath can be enough.
If you do not like text, using several photos is a great way to build your poster. Choose different photos that tell the story of your trip. You can add an image in the background of your other images to summarize the main idea.
A program like Photoshop or Affinity can help make some changes to tell a better story. Choosing the right font for your story can also help enrich your poster.

Your choice of paper
The choice of printing paper is important because it is partly responsible for the reactivity of people towards your poster.
Gloss Paper
Gloss paper makes the colors of your poster more vibrant and reflects light more intensely. It creates this reaction of WOW to your viewers.
Fine Art Matte Paper
Matte paper does not reflect light. However, the colors displayed are much more faithful to those of reality and will give a more professional look when framed and displayed on the wall. This is a very interesting option to create a poster that is more informative, including a lot of text and which focuses more on the details than on the wow effect.
What size do you want?
The size of your poster depends on your goals, space and the size of your photographs. The camera and its sensor give you a basic indication in order to define the maximum size. Photos taken with a cell phone look good on a phone but less so when printed. A medium-sized poster (around 16″ x 24″) is therefore perfect as a maximum size. On the other hand, a photo taken with a DSLR camera can produce adequate photos to build posters that can reach a dimension of 40″ x 60″ and even more.
The sensor format also plays a role in the decision of the size. Indeed, there are 2:3, 4:5, 3:4 format sensors. This is the difference in length between each side of the sensor. A 2:3 format is equivalent to 2 units of length by 3 units of height. So, to a print 8″ x 12″, 18″ x 24″, 24″ x 36″ etc. Of course, it is rare that a non-photographer knows the dimensions of his sensor. So, you can calculate the dimensions of the photograph or simply choose a poster size and resize the photo.
